The Front Door

I love my boys. From the moment each of them came into the world, my heart got bigger. Even though they have only been in our lives a relatively short amount of time, about 2 1/2 years, I can't even begin to imagine life without them. Their addition to our home has helped me to see just a little bit more, to have just a little bit more understanding of how God loves us. . . and how, when we worship Him with our lives, maybe even bring joy to him and maybe even put a smile on His face.

All I know is that every night when I come home, as soon as the door opens, I hear "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy!" And my oldest jumps into my arms, squeezes me tight, and says, "I missed you!" Immediately following is our 13 month old, exclaiming "Dah Dah, Dah Dah." We walks/crawls up to me, his hands raised high and just wants to be held by his daddy.

As a father, it doesn't matter what else happened today. To be loved so much by my boys fills my heart. In Matthew, 11:25 Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children." I guess my prayer is that as I grow to serve and love my heavenly Father, I would learn from the love my boys have for earthly father . . to run to Him with open arms.
